In March 2016, we established our Shared Service Center in Kraków, In Poland. We currently employ 240+ specialists who support Zurich around the world, striving to deliver best-in-class financial accounting & reporting (FAR), planning & performance management (PPM), financial solutions management (FSM), internal control over financial reporting (ICFR), integrated talent management operations (ITMO) team that is responsible for HR systems globally.
Our value proposition is to deliver outstanding quality of finance services to the Zurich Group. Our Shared Service Center for Finance in Kraków is fully supported by a rigorous SOX control environment and risk management framework, helping to provide controlled high-quality delivery and improved efficiency in our processes. All this helps maintain a high level of services, strong industry and process expertise, innovative solutions, effective stakeholder partnerships whilst keeping in line with the Zurich Culture experiences.
Initiatives include a collection of products and money for vulnerable animals, fundraising for the children living at a local orphanage (including a Summer Sports Day where employees took part in Volleyball, Football and other sports with the children) and the People in Need (Noble Box Appeal).
CHARITY TEAM
Volunteers from the Zurich Kraków office support various local initiatives and social communities with the help of Z Zurich Foundation - a private foundation, funded by the Zurich Insurance Group, and the main vehicle by which the Group delivers on its global community investment strategy.
We work together with Siódmy Zmysł Foundation, which helps people with impaired vision to enjoy life and we support events like ‘Kocham Kraków z wzajemnością’ dedicated to disabled people, where our employees participate in running competitions and tandem bicycles races.
We voluntarily come together to educate, inspire and empower other employees around sustainability. One of Zurich’s goals is to completely eliminate single-use plastic items and reduce paper use by 80% in all its offices around the world. Using 100% renewable energy in all Zurich branches is our goal for 2022. To achieve these targets, we planted nearly 100 trees and shrubs around our office in Kraków in the last three years. This helps us contribute into transforming Kraków to a greener place and decrease our carbon footprint, and that's just the beginning.
We encourage our employees to stay active and contribute to protecting the environment by organizing various sporting events throughout the year. Each year, together with Z Zurich Foundation we organise the Summer Cycling Challenge – a competition that spans over the four summer months and aims at promoting cycling to work. This is part of our annual initiative ‘Rowerem do Pracy’ and last year, instead of using the private or public transport, our employees cycled over 33,000 km in total! This in turn helped us save 7,5 tons of CO2 emissions. Krakow Business Run is another local event which generates huge interest among our employees
In Fun Team we focus on organizing events that are fun for everyone and help our employees to get to know each other better. It's an opportunity for them to network, make friends and enjoy the time spent at Zurich. Events like Donut Contest, Ski Day, Family Picnic, Summer Photo Contest, Halloween Pumpkin Fest, Christmas Party have become our regular tradition.
